Back pain - what to do?
What is the reason for the back pain - maybe kyphosis?
If back pain occurs, persists or keeps coming back, the first thing to be clarified is where the pain is coming from. There are many causes that can trigger the pain and it is always important to clarify the causes of the pain. In the case of long-term or recurring pain, a visit to the doctor is therefore essential. Here, for example, a possible kyphosis can be clarified as a cause.
Poor posture is often the reason for back pain
As humans, we no longer live the life that is back-friendly. We have evolved from wandering hunters and gatherers to implementing a more or less one-sided attitude in a wide variety of professions on a daily basis. This can be sitting down in the office, but also a standing posture and a job that entails heavy physical strain and thus more or less one-sided strain on the back. Sport is a good balance in these cases. With physical activity, the back is strengthened because the muscles are built up. The back is relaxed and tension can be released.
Physiotherapy can help
Many people are prone to back pain because they have severe tension in the back and neck area. Physiotherapy can then help. With targeted grips, therapists can loosen the tension and thus give the back relief again. The visit to the doctor helps to clarify whether the physiotherapeutic treatment is financed by the health insurance company or to what extent the costs have to be borne by yourself.
There are also specific exercises to relieve the back
Many books are available commercially that are filled with instructions for back exercises. This can be, for example, dynamic sitting in the office or targeted relaxation exercises for the back, which can be implemented at work in between and provide relief in acute pain. Here it is worth looking around and often achieving a great effect with little effort.
Acute pain can be treated with medication
If there is an acute state of pain that is felt to be unbearable and that particularly affects the working day or current activities, it can also be the medication that is taken to relieve it. There are numerous over-the-counter products in pharmacies that eliminate pain in the short term and make everyday life easier. However, people with back pain should not rely exclusively on pain therapy with medication and implement this independently or permanently over a long period of time. Medications are a help, not a permanent solution, and as such should only be used moderately.
Correct posture at work offers a lot of help
Most people have back pain that is related to their posture at work. Sedentary activities in particular can pose a problem. Anyone who pays attention to correct posture, takes many relaxing breaks from sitting and pays attention to dynamic sitting with movement can reduce many back problems and make everyday life easier.
