April 2010:
dr Schubert at the South German Orthopedic Congress
During the 58th annual meeting with more than 4,000 specialists of the South German Orthopedic Congress in Baden Baden, Dr. Schubert the honor of presenting two scientific contributions to an interested audience.
In the first lecture, the results of a prospective 2-year study "Endoscopic lumbar discectomy" were presented.
In the second lecture, the results of a prospective 2-year study "The percutaneous cervical nucleotomy" were presented.

4th international live surgery workshop on endoscopic spinal surgery
joimax® and the APEX Spine Center host the most successful international end scopy workshop with the TESSYS method.
Karlsruhe, March 29, 2010: On March 25th and 26th, the fourth joimax® workshop on the endoscopic removal of herniated discs using the TESSYS® method took place in the ATOS private clinic in Munich. The highlight of this international workshop were two live surgeries, which the 23 participating spinal surgeons followed in the conference room of the neighboring Sheraton Arabellapark Hotel.
dr medical Michael Schubert, head of the spinal surgery department and one of the most experienced spinal surgeons in the use of the TESSYS technique, operated on patients from Denmark and Germany, explaining every single step of the procedure and answering questions from the audience. Several workshop participants were able to follow the operations directly in the OR. The live surgeries were preceded by intensive training on the anatomical specimen at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich the day before. The international field of participants consisted of physicians from Germany, Austria, Spain, India, China and Turkey.

On the occasion of his lecture tour, Dr. Helmbrecht included in the "Editorial Board" of the most important and largest specialist journal for orthopedics in China.
December 2009:
Live surgery at the German Spine Congress in Munich
As part of the 4th annual conference of the German Society for Spine Surgery, Dr. Schubert successfully carried out an endoscopic operation in the area of the lumbar spine as a live operation for the first time in the history of the congress. The intervention was followed by an interested specialist audience (approx. 100 doctors) with the direct transmission to the congress rooms.
Bavarian television also reported on it in its 6:45 p.m. news.
October 2010:

dr Schubert led a workshop as part of the annual world's largest spine congress (NASS), this year from November 11th to 14th, 2009 in San Francisco (USA). He also presented his experiences and results on endoscopic intervertebral disc and spine surgery.
He was also able to help the very interested American colleague as part of a workshop.
September 2009:
dr Helmbrecht as guest operator in China
dr Helmbrecht, one of the leading specialists in the field of intervertebral disc prosthetics, traveled through almost all of China for 1 week. At several university clinics in the country, he informed and instructed colleagues in the very differentiated surgical technique of intervertebral disc prosthetics. The final station was the University of Beijing.
At several hospitals, including Beijing University, Dr. Helmbrecht successfully treated several cervical spine patients with great interest not only from expert colleagues but also from the press. During a congress, Dr. Helmbrecht, as a guest speaker, presented his experiences and results of this forward-looking surgical technique to the expert audience for discussion. Karlsruhe, September 16th, 2009: On September 14th and 15th, the third joimax® workshop on the endoscopic removal of herniated discs using the TESSYS® method took place in the ATOS private clinic in Munich. The highlight of this international workshop were three live surgeries, which the 25 participating orthopedists and neurosurgeons followed in the conference room of the neighboring Sheraton Arabellapark Hotel.

2nd international workshop in the ATOS clinic in Munich
Another live surgery workshop for the endoscopic removal of a herniated disc in the ATOS private clinic in Munich.
On June 15th and 16th, 2009, the international workshop “Endoscopic herniated disc removal with the TESSYS® method” took place for the second time in the ATOS private clinic in Munich. Under the medical direction of Dr. medical Michael Schubert and in cooperation with the company joimax, the participating doctors were introduced to the endoscopic, minimally invasive method for the gentle removal of a herniated disc from the lumbar spine.
Among the participants were physicians from the USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, Israel and Jordan. In addition to specialist lectures and case discussions, the two-day workshop also offers a cadaver workshop and the transmission of several live operations, each of which also has the opportunity for two to three doctors to follow the operation directly in the operating room.

Operate better than inject! ... latest study in the Spine Journal proves
Surgical measures with significantly better results than conservative forms of treatment for a herniated disc. The largest multi-centre comparative study to date with 2000 patients in the USA has clearly demonstrated that microsurgery for herniated discs achieves better results after 2 years than conservative treatment. 1st congress on the subject of spinal diseases in skiing
On Saturday, January 12th, 2008, we held the 1st Spine Congress on the subject of spinal diseases in skiing in cooperation with the German Ski Association and the Medical Park Bad Wiessee.
The event was managed by neurosurgeon and DSV ski instructor Dr. Armin Helmbrecht.
The Bavarian State Medical Association awarded this event 7 continuing education points.
