joimax® presents the Parviz Kambin Award for the first time at the 1st US TESSYS® User Meeting in Denver, Colorado, together with SMISS
After a very successful Advanced Cadaver Workshop on Saturday, April 9th, 2011, joimax ® organized the first US TESSYS user meeting on Sunday, April 10th, 2011 on the sidelines of the annual scientific meeting of the AANS (American Association of Neurological Surgeons).
In this context, joimax ® together with the SMISS, Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, awarded the Parviz Kambin Award to Dr. Parviz Kambin, the namesake himself, as the describer of the Kambin triangle and thus one of the most important pioneers and pioneers of minimally invasive endoscopic spinal surgery. This prize was donated to specifically honor highly deserving surgeons in the field of endoscopic spinal surgery.
The prize was presented to two spine surgeons with many years of experience, Dr. Michael Schubert , Munich, and Dr. Meno Ipenburg (see picture from left to right: Dr. M. Ipenburg, Dr. P. Kambin and Dr. M. Schubert). Criteria for awarding the prize include many years of endoscopic surgical practice. In particular, Dr. Michael Schubert has performed several thousand operations of this type and trained several hundred doctors in the TESSYS ® technique and has a whole series of scientific publications and/or presentations at international conferences. In addition, Dr. Michael Schubert a visiting professorship at the University of Shanghai, China.

In addition to the glamorous highlight of the award ceremony, the user meeting offered a packed program with scientific lectures, field reports and discussion forums by and with internationally recognized spine specialists from the fields of orthopedics and neurosurgery. At the same time, it was the prelude to the anniversary celebrations for the fifth anniversary of joimax ® Inc. in the USA and the tenth anniversary of joimax ® GmbH in Germany.
